The good people at Which Wich make good sandwiches. And now they’re doing more good. Which Wich is donating $.50 to Children’s Medical for every view of this video through Dec 2.
So, watch it and grab a Which while you’re out shopping during the holidays.
I’ve had a roller coaster relationship with Which Wich:
FIRST: I had my first Which Wich in Austin, TX about two years ago. I loved it, mostly because of all the choices of how to build my perfect Turkey Sandwich.
THEN: I started talking up Which Wich to anyone who would listen. Friends, co-workers, my family and to you my Turkey Sandwich Report readers. Which Wich was big shit IMHO at that time.
THEN: Mrs. Turkey Sandwich pointed out that Which Wich’s Turkey kind of sucked. She was right. I’m ok with processed Turkey, but this shit was uber-processed and I couldn’t get past it. No more Which Wich for the the Father of the Turkey Sandwich.
THEN: Jeff Sinelli, the Founder of Which Wich told me that the Turkey was going to change and that was good.
NOW: They finally changed the Turkey, but more importantly – they also offer Turkey Pastrami – and it’s good shit.
My Turkey Sandwich there yesterday was pretty damn good. Here’s what I put on it:
MEAT CHOICE: Turkey Pastramo
CHEESE: Pepper Jack
VEGGIES: Lettuce, Pepperoncini, Bell Peppers,
OILS & SPICES: Oregano, Salt, Pepper
Take it from a professional and get this sandwich next time you’re at Which Wich. And don’t get cocky and think that you can change one ingredient/topping here or there. You’re not as experienced as me and you need to do it exactly as I do.
It’s been a while since I’ve stopped by and saw my friends at Which Wich. I kinda gave up on them for a while because I didn’t like their Turkey. It was just kind of shitty. But, I held out hope that I would get new and improved Which Wich experience for a couple reasons:
- About a year ago, I talked to Jeff Sinelli, the guy that started Which Wich, I just straight-up told him that the Turkey had to improve. He agreed and told me it would.
- I heard that they changed the menu. I know this because Jeff also asked me if there was anything I wanted to see on the menu. I didn’t respond because this guy doesn’t just give out FREE sandwich advice. I am a highly paid Sandwich Consultant and I would ruin my business if I just started whoring myself out to people in exchange for a free bag of chips.
So, here’s the deal: Which has indeed changed the menu:
- They have some new spreads and sauces: A1, Pesto and Ketchup
- The Giardiniera is now called “Hot Pepper Mix” for whatever reason.
- They now offer Avocado
- SPAM is now on the menu. Yeah, they have SPAMwiches.
- The Turkey does seem to be of higher quality.
- But the big news is that they now offer PASTRAMI TURKEY – which is a personal fave. I’m a BIG Pastrami Turkey guy.
Change has come to Which Wich. And it’s a good kind of change, so good job, Jeff.
But, I’m not going to sit here and just kiss Which Wich ass. They put mushrooms on my Turkey Sandwich, which is completely unacceptable. Even worse, this was a to-go order and I didn’t realize this until I was already in my car and down the street.
Did I take it back? You bet your ass I took that Turkey Sandwich back.
Getting my Turkey Sandwich toasted the right way has been what some might call a “hot button” lately. I want my Turkey Sandwich toasted the right way, is that too much ask?
My latest issue is with Which Wich. I stopped by there a couple days ago and got two sandwiches: one to eat there and one for later. The bread on the sandwich was toasted just fine, but the Turkey was cold and it just didn’t feel right.
Now, some of you might say, “I like it that way. I like the hot side hot and the cold side cold!” But I don’t think there are too many of you out there, or the Mc DLT would still be around. Check out Jason Alexander pimping Mickey D’s.
Vodpod videos no longer available.
Here’s my advice to Which Wich: Offer double toasting. That way, people can get the inside of the sandwich a little warmer, if they so desire.
How big of a deal in the world of Turkey Sandwiches am I? Such a big deal that when I request the presence of a certain hot shot owner of a chain of sandwich shots at a meeting, I get it. I also order off the menu.
Today, I spoke with Jeff Sinelli, who is the Founder of Which Wich. I wanted to speak with him because we will both be speaking at the upcoming Word of Mouth Marketing Association Summit in Vegas. I wanted to see if Jeff would be interested in getting a beer and a Turkey Sandwich and talk some shop. He’s on a tight schedule as any sandwich entrepreneur would be, but he’s going to carve out some time for me.
I’m calling this meeting “The Turkey Sandwich Summit”. It’s kind of like Reagan/Gorbachev in ’86 – two world powers getting together and discussing important stuff.
More details to come, but needless to say – this summit is going to shape how Turkey Sandwiches are prepared and eaten for years to come.
BTW, I did have a Turkey Sandwich from Which Wich today. I went with the “Thank You Turkey. Nice sandwich. One side had a little too much cranberry and they forgot my lettuce, but overall, a solid Turkey Sandwich.
