What is “SSS” you ask? It’s Soft Sub Syndrome. We’ve all suffered from Soft Sub Syndrome(TM) at some point or another. It’s when you order a Sub Sandwich and the bread is a little too soft and flimsy and feels like it needs a little more substance. You know what I’m talking about.
A few places that suffer from Soft Sub Syndrome:
- Lenny’s Subs
- Mr. Goodcents
- Mike’s Jersey Subs (although not as bad as the afore mentioned sub shops)
So here’s how you cure SSS: take a few potato chips (Doritos or Sun Chips will work to0) and put them on your sandwich. It adds a little crunch. Think of it as an emergency toasting replacement.
It’s not everyday that a top notch celebrity or athlete endorses their favorite place to get a sandwich. Well, Chase Daniel did just that today and boldly proclaimed that he’s a Quizno’s Guy.
Bold move, Chase. I’m not sure I agree with you, but I respect you making a bold statement.
I have been traveling out on the East Coast over the last few weeks and my Turkey Sandwich options have been limited. I don’t do Subway, so Quizno’s has turned out to be the next best thing.
You’ve probably been seeing their TV commercials for their $4 Torpedo and wondering when I am going to weigh in on this concept. Well, I am here to clear the air and let you know if you can eat a Torpedo.
The answer is: yes.
Quizno’s Torpedo is actually pretty good. I like the bread better than their regular sandwiches and at $4 they’re a pretty good deal. My only advice is to tell them to run it thru the toaster twice. My sources tell me that Quizno’s has shortened their toasting time considerably over the last few years so that they can pump the sandwiches out faster. Tell them to toast it twice and to keep their mouth shut.
